Often we are asked to share with others God’s calling on our lives. Here in Seattle, we’ve found that one of the best ways to do this is through what we call The 3-C’s.

First and foremost we are ---- Christ Centered.  In everything we do we start, stay and end with Christ! The power is in the Gospel.  One of our staff often says this, “We do violence to the poor when we do not share with them the glorious truth of the Gospel!”  Therefore we are Christ-Centered, Gospel-Centered. 

Furthermore, we are ---- Church Based.  We believe that the church is God’s primary vehicle to bring the Gospel to bear in our city.  As God’s sent people, the local church is best positioned to impact their own neighborhoods and communities for Christ.  Therefore, hardly anything we do goes out under the Here’s Life Inner City name or brand.  In all our different efforts, we work to lift up the church and make much of Christ.  We are Church Based. 

Finally, we are ---- Compassion Focused.  When we look at Scripture, we clearly see God’s heart for people, especially the poor.  Attention to modern-day widows and orphans, and all who are oppressed or struggling, is close to the heart of God.  We believe that as God’s sent people, the church, we are blessed to be a blessing.  As we increasingly see the compassion and forgiveness that our Father has shown to us, we can't help but reflect it to the community.  This becomes a beautiful picture of the Gospel where favor, help, encouragement, and forgiveness is shown, even when, perhaps especially when, it is undeserved.

So, we are Christ Centered, Church Based, and Compassion Focused.  Simply put, we are about the demonstration and proclamation of the Gospel in all that we do, through the local church!
